Kirkland

Kirkland is located on the east shore of Lake Washington. With a population of 45,000+, it is bordered to the east by Redmond, to the south by Bellevue, and to the north by Kenmore and Bothell. Many waterfront parks and art galleries give Kirkland a “Carmel-by-the-Sea” feel attracting throngs of summer visitors and residents alike. Kirkland also boasts an active nightlife and is home to numerous popular gourmet restaurants. The Seattle Seahawks training facility is currently at Kirkland’s private college, Northwest University. Megawarehouse chain Costco previously had its headquarters in Kirkland, hence the “Kirkland Signature” store brand. Several prominent companies like Google, Clearwire, and super secretive, Bungie (creator of Halo), have large offices within the city limits. In 1982, Kirkland had its moment in the national spotlight when the Kirkland Little League baseball team won the Little League World Series. Since 1999, Kirkland has been the home of the Little League Junior Softball World Series held each August at Everest Park.
